Hermes / Parcel2go .... yes I know!

Booked a parcel collection with Hermes on the Parcel2go website for 15/11/12. On the 15th the Hermes collector arrived and took said parcel. Checked the tracking on 16th and said 'collected'.
One week later it's still saying 'collected'. Contacted Hermes, they say nothing to do with us it's Parcel2go you need to deal with.
Contacted Parcel2go, "would you like to make a claim sir?". No I dont want to make a claim I want my parcel back/delivered that failed to reach the Hermes depot. I've asked both companies to supply the name and contact details of the collector but both absolutely refuse, saying they cannot give out personal information.
As I see it, I gave the parcel to the collector and signed the electronic machine, I had no receipt for the parcel but the tracking clearly shows 'collected'. Surely this is theft as it never reached the depot?
Any idea where I go from here folks?
