In my case, its made much worse by taking a wet dog back from walks.0 -
Hi all,
I've always had problems with condensation in pretty much every car I've had, but it's really been emphasised recently by me only having a quick 5 minute (if that) journey into work, and not giving the car a decent chance to get fully heated etc
Can someone please recommend a decent cloth that'll absorb the water and leave a decent finish? I've just got some Keep it Handy 'Super Absorbent' cloths that simply seem to move around and smear the water, and don't actually absorb anything at all ;_;
Thanks
Well, no cloth is going to be any good if it gets left damp/wet in the car until the next morning
And if your doing THAT short a journey, you should consider walking. Your doing untold damage to the parts of the car you cannot see.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

my car is dreadful for condensation . I have tried all sorts of cloths and paper but none tried so far will clear it. The fan blower takes 10 to 15 minutes and my journey is a late at night 3 minute one, I would walk but it's dark and can be a dangerous walk.
The £1 shop has dessicant in containers sometimes two for £1 that sucked moisture in the spare bedroom but not sure it will be strong enough. may try that when I can get to the shop. Also I want to try a squeegee blade, like the window cleaner uses to pull it down onto a cloth then make it drier to wipe. Normally I have to drive with all windows open to get home safely but it can be very cold sometimes...and wet which makes it worse next time. ( mechanic has looked everywhere for a leak but there is nothing that appears wet and to be honest, I get this with every car I own)0 -

On a dry day, its worth leaving the windows open and letting some air through it0

stop heavy breathing! have you got AC? if you have turn it on cold. This will suck up the moister in the air and keep the AC in working order in time for summer
The OP has a Mk2 TT which I would assume has climate control. All that needs to be done is leave the system on Auto which will then ensure that the evaporator is active and dry the air out. The heating is applied afterwards so the result is dry warm air in the car. The outside airtemp does need to be above 3-5°c for this to work though.0 -

Lol. No AC in my car.
Tonight there was no condensation. Night before last it was awful but to be fair as I pulled into my drive I noticed the sliding door that leads to the front door was running with water and very cloudy looking - as was my neighbours.
I also noticed on the way home the cars for sale in two garages I passed are full of condensation ( but not in the morning so guess they've been opened up and dried)
Hardly surprising in this weather.0 -
Keep the fan on at 1 and open a window an inch (when the weather is dry).
Whatever you use to dry the windows, just make sure you take it out the car and dry it on a radiator between trips.0 -
When the screens dry, chop a potato in half and wipe it over the inside of the screen.
No idea why it works, but it does.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

It won't be as bad now as the weather is warmer though humid. If that damp air is still in the car when the temperature drops in a couple of night's time that's when you'll have a problem.0
