Check out this comparison on gsmarena...may help you decide.
From that comparison...they are pretty similar....D900 has better camera and battery life, but 6300 has a better screen. They are prety much the same size and weight, but the D900 does slide, making it a lil shorter.0 -
the d900 has an autofocus camera and more internal memory (means you can hold more stuff on the phone without buying a memory card)0

hi guys,
about to update my phone with O2..
choice narrowed down to one of these two..
any advice on which is the best??
cheers
I had the D900 (still do) and it's a good phone but the Nokia which I bought today after seeing a friends is far better imo, all down to choice........Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
Nokia's are much easier to use and th ease of doing everything is better. i have got 6300 and its a great phone u cant go wrong with it my mate has the D900 and it is not all that. usability is not that good. and Nokia's are more reliable.0

i have a d900 and i think its a great phone very easy to use, good memory and a fantastic camera. I've seen a friends 6300 and i am not all that impressed0

I've just upgraded to the 6300 from a samsung, not the D900 but a few friends have them and while it's a nice phone I wouldn't have it over a nokia. Samsungs are a lot less customisable than nokia's and not as easy to use. The D900 has a great camera though.Sigless0

thanks guys for all your input.
i popped into cpw and had a look. didnt really like look of the 6300, bit plain for my tastes, so plumped for the d900...
thanks again0
