I'm thinking of buying this phone. I haven't had an android/smart phone before. I'm an Orange pay-as-you-go customer. Will I just be able to put my Sim into the phone and use it? Thanks for any info.

If its sold as SIM free(as in not tied to any network) or Orange branded.
Then yes it will work fine

You will need a micro sim, it is possible to cut your current sim down to micro size see youtube or speak to orange.

No matter where you get one from, they're all unlocked and unbranded. At the moment they're only available from O2 and CPW, and are not as cheap as Google will be selling them when they get stock.

Is a brilliant phone, I'm posting this from one.

I am waiting, and while I wait I am trying to get any idea of how long that wait may be. Has anyone heard any rumours?

My guess would be December 13th, based on rumours that the White versions of the Nexus 4 might go on sale on that date, and on the fact that Google has talked about a three-week restocking period for the black versions.
