Virgin Broadband/Phone

I am considering moving to virgin media for the broadband(upto 8mb) & Phone (Unlimited calls) and was just hoping someone on here can clear up all my questions for me?

Firstly when i pay the £19.99 for the Broadband & Unlimited calls will i have to pay anything extra a month?(I know i will still have to pay around £11 line rental to BT & that unlimited calls only cover 01 & 02 Numbers for 60 mins at a time) Second will i have to pay a fee to get started for them to say fit a new phone line or something(heard its about £25?) Also is the PCguard Total any good? And Most importantly i would just like someone to give me general feedback on this package as around the boards no-one ever says anything good about it so should i just avoid it or is it worth it once you get it all sorted and is the service any good?

Thanks

  • If you're only dialling UK landlines for less than an hour , then there shouldnt be any extra charges . You will obviously be charged for ringing mobiles , international , premium numbers , 0845, 0870 etc.
Not sure on the £25 installation charge though , thought that was only for cable customers ?

As your talking about the Virgin Media (Non Cable Service) their is no £25 connection,as your only cps your calls to VM.
I use the service and have never experienced any real problems, but only i pay a £5 a month for 1mb it suits me at the moment,i cps my calls to another supplier.

don't do it! I've had nothing but misselling, poor customer service, appaling internet speeds and general grief from them!

Well I've been with Virgin for some years and have no complaints. I pay £14.99 a month for non-cable broadband and free evening and weekend calls (I use BT for daytime and mobile etc calls) on the "up to 8mb" package. I don't get anything over 3mb but was told that this was because of the exchange and nothing to do with Virgin. Much faster early in the morning than in the evening but still better than dial-up!!
