It depends it could have done as cheaper option but then it may not
    .
Its difficult to say how easy it would be to convert without knowing where the sewers run. I would enquire more with the owners, but the saniflio would have to go.

I believe if the only toilet is Saniflo, the property would not be mortgagable.

Or the installer is lazy/doing a half donkey'd job.

Of the ones I've had experience of, two were fitted when a local builder/plumber couldn't be bothered to dig a short trench to a suitable waste pipe (both were downstairs within 4-6 of the house sewer line), and a couple more because it was the only practical option.

The theory is that they do give you an option where a normal waste pipe isn't available, but some plumbers/builders put them in because it's easier and faster (and in some cases looks nicer) to run the small bore piping for the saniflo than to do a proper job that may involve an afternoons digging (we looked at the option at one point, and ran away fast to get the shovels out;)).

If you like the house it may be worth trying to find out how hard it would be to replace the saniflo with a proper system, as it may be that a lazy or overly concerned with looks builder has used it because it was easier, or looks better than 4" piping.

I have a plumber coming round to give a quote. If it runs into the thousands I'm walking away.
