Yes, go and sit on the naughty step and no chocolate biccies for you.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Thanks, I haven't got a ticket to appeal against yet as they are using ANPR. I thought I may get one via the post even though I didn't park after looking at the signs. We were looking to spend £2k on furniture but I decided not to shop at the peel centre due to the car park T&C's.0 -
Normally yes. But Excel are currently suspended from buying anyone's address from the DVLA. So they have no way of finding out where you live.0

What is to stop individuals buying the same information and then passing it on to Excel?Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!
Mortgage free II: New Year's Eve 2013!
Mortgage free III: Est. Dec 2021...0 -
If Excel were caught doing this they would be in deep trouble.
Many of us are hoping they do something like this that may get them permanently banned from accessing the DVLA database. The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]

Hi
I received a ticket in post from peel from early March. So I guess they got their powers back. Should I respond or just ignore? Is the peel centre still a grey area due to the court case (Martin Cutts)? I suppose I'm a little worried as they had number plate recognition...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The number plate recognition isnt the same as the number plate recognition used by the Police and other statory authorities, so theres no need to worry.
As for your issue, you ned to provide more information on why you got a ticket,( overstsay, not parked in the bay etc etc) and strart a new thread/topic on here something like parking ticket in peel centre stockport for <??>From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -

ANPR? No they don't! They have a normal CCTV camera taking pics and recording a time in and out...just like the fake PCN held by the solicitor Tim Cary in this Watchdog clip:

Then they buy the registered keeper's data from the DVLA. Your choices as alrways are to ignore the whole scam or to appeal it. Read any thread on here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks or the advice. it's actually quite comforting knowing they cannot force us to pay.
I was just a little worries as a friend pointed out the law had changed in October 2012 and in this bbc article says
"But landowners are boosted by stronger laws on ticketing, which mean unpaid charges can be claimed from the keeper of the vehicle, as well as the driver."

Is it still best to just ignore?0
