Cancelled Sky - offers

Options
Hi

I've had sky for 12 months, basi package and used a quidco deal to get it even cheaper. Couldnt wait until my 12 months was up..... asked them to offer me a deal but the best I got was 25% off. I cancelled my sky and today was my last day.

They've just called me and I have the basic sky package plus entertainment extra plus movies all for £22 with no contract. Well worth waiting for the offer :)

(I've already got 6 months free line rental off them too)

Wooo

    I cancelled in March.

Best offer Ive had was 6 months half price plus half price Sky Movies and Sports for a time (cant remember how long - I recycled the letter as soon as it came in)
  • I'm with Sky what aload of rubbish. Had good deal for the first six months then everything went to hell. Can't wait for my contract to end, can't wait to move somewhere else

In what way did it go "to Hell"?
Do you mean you had to pay the full subscription price?

I wanted to see what would happen when i actually went through to sky cancellations:..

Ive been with sky for 15 years or so and have mainly been on the normal pack and only at times add movies and sports.

Ive got bb with virgin and phone line with bt

Currently got the old normal white panasonice box (not plus or hd or anything) and also the normal tv pack at £26 per month

Went through to cancellations and the guy came up with the following:

    1) sky + hd box (as ive got a normal old non plus box)

    2) Free Installation

    3) 20% of package for 9 months

    4) £5 for hd pack (normal 10.25)

Now from the above the only good thing is the 20% of for 9 months deal as when i rang a month ago and just talked to the normal sales team as i got a new hd tv the lady offered me numbers 1, 2 and 3 above anyway so didnt really get a new deal from the cancellations

mentioned ive got virgin bb and will need to think and possibly continue with cancellation on monday after talking with family

I also mentioned movies and he said for that i can give u everything above plus movies for £21.00 per month for 6 months then just cancel movies and it will go back to £26.00 plus an extra £5.00 if you want hd
But this deal would tie me in for 12 months, meaning i need to keep some type of subscription for 12 months

Then i mentioned the 2 tb box and he said £149, i said hell no mate when i rang before the lady said £49 adn it would always be £49 after checking and apologising he said it is 49 but installation is 60 so £109 total and the computer would not let him reduce installaton even thought it should be the same as installation the other box and thats free

I just been on phone to them, been with them 20 odd years, sky sports 1 n 2 and some other package we needed have. Was paying £45 month, offered 20% @ 9 Months. Told them not enough, lady just cancelled it off for me without fuss. They can stick it!
    SIMPLES!
  • Def worth trying for the deal I got, its 12 months half price and no further tie in so I can still cancel when I want. To be on the safe side I will be checking it though to make sure its def 1/2 price but it looks it compared to my normal bill.
Like I said it was the final day that I was suppose to have sky and they called me so make sure you have your phone on you to answer when they call.
    Good luck :)
