Hi,
I'm looking to move my internet and possibly telephone provider. I'm currently with BT for both (option 3 for phone).
I was looking at Sky but don't know anyone who already has it to ask their advice, and I've been hearing negative reports about Talk Talk.
Can anyone help with the Sky issue.....is it worth it, does it work and is it reliable?

Hi KAD,
I can only tell you about my experience with sky which I have had since 10th March. I was with ntl freedom 2mb speed before but with the prospect of a faster connection than I had and saving money as I was paying £24.99 for bb and talk plus I had sky tv at £15.00 a month - now altogether £26 a month, saving £13.99 and having more channels.
The move from my old provider to sky was very smooth, I was given the 12th of march as my connection date but was connected on the 10th, and it was a matter of plug in and go! I haven't had any problems at all with it so far and the router has been working perfectly (which was free) and a big difference in speed.
I was very nervous moving to a new provider because of reading so many negatives, and it took me three months of should I shan't I before taking the plunge.
If you want to read more about experiences of others with sky I would recommend you look at https://www.skyuser.co.uk which is very helpful - it is not a forum from sky. I made my decision from reading through that forum.
Good luck with whatever you decide.0 -
The last thing I would wish to do, is to re-direct you from the massive amount of posts on MSE, however it is always usefull to read other "well-informed" sites to. Such as www.internetservicepreview.co.uk and www.adsl.com
Wherever you look, there will be a huge amount of disgruntled posts from users who claim to be experiencing problems. This has to an effect on decisions. I have yet to find a site that is full of encouragement and posativety. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
