Cracked mobile, no longer under warranty - any solutions?
Hi all,
I'm pretty sure theres not much I can do about this, but thought I would still ask for advice incase there is anything I can do!
Essentially I got a samsung galaxy S3 back in May, annoyingly 2 days before my phone case arrived i slightly cracked the screen whilst it was in my pocket after hitting it off the corner of a table (extremely annoying since im not the type to ever drop/break phones!)
Anyway it still worked fine as it was only a superficial crack on the screen and i continued to use it. Two weeks ago however when alerted to a text (blue flashing light) I tried to wake it and it didn't response. I switched it off but then it did not switch back on, respond to a charger and was unable to hard reset. (I've heard one or two stories about this happening with the old samsung galaxy also)
This was sent away and apparently the problem is with the main board, and it is beyond economical repair - due to the crack on the screen though im no longer covered by the manufacturers warranty since they are blaming the problem on when it was cracked.
Is there anything I can do?! I really don't fancy having to buy another phone/contract!
Thanks

The two issues may not be related, but when an external crack is shown, all bets are off. In your situation I'd take it to a local repairer who may be able to get you up and running at a much reduced cost.0
