Not sure if this is the correct forum site. I bought a new television from Comet in August of this year and my payments have been deferred until June of next year where I will have to pay the full amount or be charged interest. I also took out a 5 year service plan which is also payable by that time. I have already started paying money off the loan to get it out of the way quickly. The service plan totals £234, but if comet goes into liquidation, what’s the point in paying the £234 with no guarantee that my television will be repaired or replaced if it breaks down during that time. I have tried to speak to someone at Comet but they are not very helpful.
Thanks
Thanks

The service plan is not with Comet it is with a 3rd party http://www.thewarrantygroup.com/0 -

Thanks for the information I will contact them and hopefully my television will still be covered if the need arises.0 -
It will still be covered, no connection with Comet. Comet just received a commission on your contract-which is why you should never buy these policies from the retailer. Buy direct when your manufacturer's warranty expires, if you must-much cheaper.
Effectively during the first year or two years (depending on warranty) you are now paying twice for the same thing. No free lunch, and no free laptop
