33 year old here that has gone back to uni, surrounded by 18-22 year old trendies. You are right with the MASSIVE heels. All the rage. Just to warn you though, boobs are not cool any more :( Legs are though! So get the massive heels on, a short dress, but not get the boobs out.

HTH! Not good for me as I have massive jubblies and tummy to go with it (thank goodness for good legs). x

Erm, since when have boobs been out? Last I checked boobs & legs never go out of fashion - I clearly missed this memo!!

Apparently, 'side cleavage' is currently in vogue although with a C cup limit advised for elegance.

Honestly! The young lads are all about the legs now. If you go out to a club in town you won't see as many boobs as in my clubbing days....

REAL men like REAL women of course ;)
  • For me the allure is style. Always like a woman with stle. Boobs legs what ever as log as she has style. Its not what you show its how you show it . Big boobs are for excited teenagers, long legs last forever.

Is there any chance you can look on the site of where you are going??? Or go on the wetherspoons page or facebook, and look up local pubs that you would be going to and get a idea of what people our age are wearing?? Thats what i was doing last night, being in the exact same situation as you are in!!!

Hmmm I am heading out on my 37th birthday next month to a gig and will be wearing: tight t-shirt, denim mini, some sort of weird tights and New Rock Reactor biker boots, chuck a vintage blazer or my leather jacket and that's me done :-)

I'd say I'll grow up one day but I REALLY doubt it :j

I haven't been out in town for donkeys years... and come from a small town where jeans and a top is the norm. Im going out in Manchester on saturday as part of a group for my oh's birthday. Can anyone advise what to wear... i am 34yrs old, female and a size 12 now. I cant ask his friends as I dont yet know their partners.

To put it bluntly I want to look stunning without looking like mutton dressed as lamb to treat myself after losing weight. But likewise I dont want to stick out like a sore thumb and its been so long due to kids etc. That I just dont know what people wear.

My thoughts are jeans are not smart enough... so either a pencil skirt and top or a dress. Im going shopping on friday so need to know what to aim for.

    Thanks for reading

Don't worry Dude. why does frustrated to yourself? yours pencil skirt and top would look good on you.

The clubs will post pictures on facebook every week - have a look.

My daughter went out last night - she had a dress (gold and black - sleeveless, fairly short) black leggings, enormous black and gold heels and a blazer.

mates in jeans and sparkly tops, huge heels and one in all black.

The only rule seems to be that clothes are structured not baggy.

But anything goes - I went out a few years ago, late thirties, and wore a cardigan - think people thought I was an undercover nun or something - but I still got chatted up :) Be comfy and happy in what you are wearing and you'll have a great night.
