How long before your wedding have you request RVSPs?

I know this post is a little old but thought still relevant. We sent out save the date cards in xma cards for our Oct wedding.

We have had people wanting to know when we will send out invites already. we were thinging of March but reading all these replies is Mach too soon?

Most people will have to book in to a hotel and will be traveling.

I'm trying to decide when to send my invites out too nightsky, I've recently moved across country and the weddings here so my entire side of the guest list will need to travel/book hotels plus it's on a Friday so less chance of people being off work. I was thinking sedning invites end of February for mid August wedding. What does everyone think?
