  • I was trying to place an order a few years ago with a company in England and when I got to checkout it said it would be more expensive as I lived in Ireland. I emailed them to say I lived in N/ireland and that we were part of the u.k They apoligised for their mistake and I got my order for the same price of postage as rest of the u.k
Do a little kindness every day.;)

I do not think the problem is quite as bad as it used to be. They are gradually learning the geography of their own country - slowly but learning.

I was trying to purchase a bike on ebay from private seller. Iasked them about getting it delivered to N.Ireland and the costs. They said they had found a courier service who was very reasonable and quoted me £50 for delivery!

Honestly chaps, it mostly is not the shops at fault here. I run a business from NI and the simple reality is that that little bit of water makes a difference. With RM, business tends to end up with parcel force if you are not letters and they surcharge. Citylink are the same along with many others.
    Always overestimating...

Ordered a new phone from Google on Wednesday. Got an email to say it had been despatched on a 2 day delivery and included a tracking number.
Went to the website to track the consignment and found it had been sent from Birmingham on Wednesday and it arrived in.......Dublin yesterday!

Wanted to get a case of 'real ale' for my brother-in-law for Christmas, but since all the places online that supply this are in England the delivery charge was £15 instead of their normal £6.99. Thought I have a look on Amazon, lo and behold the product was there with a standard UK delivery of £6.99. Promptly ordered and just got the dispatch notification so even though it was £4 more I've still saved £4.01. Funny how they seem able to cope with the lost margin in this case :shhh:

Was trying to order a £3.99 book (which is very thin and light) from 'The Book People' yesterday.... I did not proceed with the order when I realised their postage cost to NI was £7.45!
