Outlook Express 6 problem

Actually, the more I look at it, your problem might be another provider takeover induced problem where someone at Virgin has switched something off totally forgetting (or never even knowing!) that Telewest customers like you are still relying on it! Doh!
I am now reading this email help link at Virgin Media that looks promising:
http://www.virginmedia.com/help/check/?category=portal&app=helpemail
....
Yep, thought so, if you click through Telewest, and follow the links for Outlook Express 6 you end up at:
http://help2.virginmedia.com/help/getContent.jspx?page=h_email_setup_OE6#step7
and sure enough, if it isn't set up in your OE/Tools/..../Servers with your username (Account name and password) set to the special Virgin Media Mailbox name (might look like a code in the form 'abcd12345') and password that they seem to be saying will have been sent to you in a letter at some stage, then it probably won't work anymore.
And later on I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't switch off one or both of the blueyonder servers and cause another inadvertent upset!0 -
peterbaker I want to have your babies!!
All fixed now - the Virgin lady (as it were) had checked my Account name and Password but didn't notice that the Incoming mail server had been changed - so I changed it back and all is now well!!

Ehm .... steady on .... calm yourself JW !! :-)
Isn't it just typical of these takeovers and swinging changes by our most pro-active companies (in profit-making wheezes terms) that they just leave a trail of unconsidered broken details behind every change?
Hey ho ... alls well that ends well ... and always nice to create a smile:-)0 -

"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Sorry to disappoint, but 'I want your babies' is not a romantic proposal.....more a declaration of intent.0
