Hmmmmm - where are we taking the P***?
I think what you will find is two members having a misunderstanding, making amends and then continuing to offer advice?
That is what we are here for is it not!!!!:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -

There's a scheme called childcare subsidy where New Deal for Lone Parents will pay childcare for a maximum of 52 weeks for someone doing paid work of under 16 hours, as a stepping stone to full time employment. Technically this work has to be agreed with your adviser before you start but most advisers will use flexibility and powers of discretion.
I'm confused as to why you'd have to be doing 8 hours though - as far as I'm aware it's payable however many hours you're doing (as long as it's under 16). Did your adviser give you any reason that you'd have to do 8 hours work?0 -

rukia, please don't be upset. Nobody is taking the p*** out of you. Very often a thread goes off track by somebody throwing the odd comment in, and things become a free for all! It is probably frustrating when you are anxious to receive replys, but is the nature of threads. Please read some of Dittering Dads posts, he is very funny and very harmless.
Back to your post. If you do need to work 8 hrs a week to claim, I think you would also need paylips to prove it, not just cash in hand?
Ooeer, sorry Dittering Dad, of course I meant Dithering!
I hope you get your problem sorted. Best wishes.0 -

hi she said it must be beteen 8 and 15 1/20 -
I think it's definitely worth going back to the job centre and asking her to double check that. As far as I know there's no lower limit to the hours you do it just has to be under 16 as that's when tax credits kick in.
I'll check at work tomorrow though as I have been known to be wrong (on very rare occasions obviously;) )
Will post again tomorrow when I have definite info:D0 -
Thank you very much for your help0
