Please explain why you don't feel that it's the parents who are to blame for leaving their baby with a dog.0 -

Dog/baby conflicts are nothing new. Because of this I think that the parents are as much to blame as the dog.
Bringing a baby into this world is not a task to be taken lightly. In the real world, there is no magic wand that makes everything work out nicely, things must be thought through and worked at!
It's not as if it's a sudden decision, there must have been several months to think about this.

I trust everyone shaming the parents/family has seen the update today saying the the dog escaped through a babygate that was keeping it in the kitchen i.e. well away from the baby? Hmm? Love it when people assume they must have just chucked baby and dog in room together and shut the door...0

Personally i would not have a dog at all with a baby in the house. The risk is too great. Even if you think you are being careful mistakes like this happen. Such a shame. The parents will never forgive themselves im sure.
This same thing nearly happened to my nephew. The dog was destroyed, and the whole family breathed a sigh of relief as we had all been telling the parents the risk was too great. Luckily they were there when the dog went for their son.0
