Tea Bags vs. Loose tea leaves

If you use a teapot you get to start collecting tea-cosies!
My favourite game when I was 2 was to put a hippo shaped tea cosy on my head and pretend I was a hippo. Thinking about it I haven't even seen a tea cosy since I was little but they were a much more common sight in kitchens then.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
Q try Yorkshire Tea, it does work with their tea bags;)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I use 1 bag for two mugs of tea with PG Tips - I've switched to English Breakfast (which is weaker anyway) but I haven't used up all my PG Tips yet but then we always like it more milky than strong. You could always buy the Builders teabags - you'd probably get 10 cups of normal strength tea from one bag!0

I could not do this, the memory is forever etched in my mind of a French School Excahnge when I was 13 the Mother made tead with a teabag with string attached, then wound it round the kitchen tap for later use.
I always treat myself to a new teabag each time. If I'm making it for 2 I use a pot with 2 teabags.
Current brew is Punjana, 160 for the price of 80 in Tesco.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
okay i ahev to say im an earl grey girl myself but i do reuse my bags.
i did read somewhere that you should always brew your tea in just water then add the milk once the teabag is out of the water, as the fat particles block the holes in the teabag making it a weaker brew this always works for me0 -
Ewwww I couldn't add the milk while the bag's still in it! :eek:0

Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Hi Quasar,
I drink very strong black tea and have tried using a teabag twice but the second dunk is a very poor excuse for a cup of tea. I think tea leaves make a better cup but can't always be bothered to use them when I only want a quick cuppa.
There was a recent discussion on tea that might interest you:
Poll: Tea Bags vs. Loose tea leaves
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

I tried Morrisons value teabags at 32p for 80? Ok, we're skint, and I really wasn't expecting much. They take a bit more brewing, but surprisingly they make a decent cup of tea. Even my friend, who is a teabag snob commented on the 'nice cup of tea' before she knew what they were.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T
Don't throw away food challenge started 30/10/11 £4.45 wasted.

Q.... I love a good cup of tea
I used to be a coffee girl, until I had chicken pox, about 18 months ago.
And since then, I really only have coffee on high days and holidays
Good tea bags IMHO....
Yorkshire
Builders
Punjana
Nambari
Scottish Blend PG Tips
Tesco captain stong tea or whatever its called
Lidl brand... think its the silver brand
I have to say, I will be trying the Morrisons value brand soon because "Hawthorn" said they are worth a try ...
I have not tried the other stores value brands
I normally have 2 teabags in a big, half litre, cup of tea( I soooo need the caffine, without having the coffee:o
)... so I will try the cheaper option myself now
I think the way ahead if you are a Tea Jennie whilst you are at home, is to buy a tea pot.
I think I may be in the queue behind you for a teapt ( ITS BEHIND YOU):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Get your self off to Whittards woman, for a decent teapot
