After finding this thread we ordered from www.theteahouse.co.uk and must say the service was amazing!! Myself and some of the girls at work got together and ordered a few differentteas, we got a White Peony, an Imperial Pu Erh and a Gunpowder Tea, we ordered at 1 o clock on the wednesday and the tea arrived in th epost the next day, and it is all beautifully packaged in a nice tea caddy and the teas are all really nice too!
We spent a bit of time on their website (don't tell the boss) and it is really helpfull, have a look at the health benefits pages for some great info.
Right I'm getting shouted at now as it is my turn to make the tea!!
Let me know if any of you have also tried them and if you had such a good online experience as we did!
Bye

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but Ihave tried to economise one everthing, as you do, and have got the cheapest Tea bags I could find, trying Tesco's own, Asda's own etc,
I am not a Tea drinker, the Tea bags are for my OH, he now says they taste awful and sort of soapy? what he really wants is a good strong cup of Tea, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Brand?look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves.0 -
I think making tea from tea leaves, rather than tea bags, give much better taste...and you can make it very strong if you want to...and it's cheaper too.
I use PG tips tea leaves, available in Tesco0 -
We use Morrisons own extra strong tea bags. I also find that PG make an adequately strong cup of builders tea. The only bags I really can't get along with are Tetleys.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
Yorkshire tea, extra strong t bags and loose tea, are the way to go, i love strong tea, and this is the best I have found, they are not the cheapest, but worth it.0

Hi Lovelyjubbly,
I like my tea really strong and black so another vote for PG loose leaves here. There's an earlier thread with lots of recommendations for different types of tea that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.

LOVE a good cuppa. Traditional English Breakfast tea of course.
I read somewhere (not on MSE, I think) that it's possible to get two full cups out of one teabag, but I just don't seem to quite manage it, as the second cup is always very weak. I tried to make the first cup not as strong as I usually have it, but still the second cup wasn't much better. Shame because I drink a fair bit of tea and every little penny I save counts...
So, is there a way to do it, or would it be better doing it using a teapot? I've always just shoved a teabag in a cup and did it that way, but I'm open to persuasion by those who know better.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I have an aunt and for as long as i have known her she has always reused tea bags. Cant remember how many she puts in a pot but once the pot has been emptied the bags are put in a cup and dried out a bit before reusing later on. Personally i would not do this. I drink whatever tea bags are on offer and admit i can drink a far bit a day especially at the minute being ill and OH pandering to my every whim. I may look into buying some Typhoo because Netto have 1100 tea bags for £8.99 or the tetly they have also had in the catering size bags but think these are slightly more.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Tea made in a teapot, the second cup is stronger because it sits longer, always use a teapot !0

I always make 2 cups of tea from one bag. Just squidge the bag up against the side of the cup a few times with the spoon until the tea is the right colour, add the milk afterwards. Makes two average strength cups and I use Tesco value bags.0
