im not sure, although i just got a letter asking for £90 to renew it, but the letter wasn't from reg123 but another company so im not sure if it would be cheaper renewing through reg123 if that is possible? Can you buy more than 2 years that way you wont have to renew as often??

Yes, I have come across ISP's that were selling for periods of 2/5/10 years. But, the question you may need to ask is whether they'll still be here in 10 years time. My suggestion would be to find short-term cheap domains. The reason being its cut-throat out there and there seem to be good competition amongst ISP/resellers.

Is there anybody out there that :-

    (1) Intially bought cheap domain name but now find/have found themselves with a large renewal fee ?

    (2) Bought cheap domains in the past and have remained to a pay similar fee amount upon renewal of contract.

Be careful there are scams going around that appear to offer to renew or register domains - they charge an exortionate fee - No way should it be £90

Renewal should not be more that £10 or so depending on whether it is co,uk . com or whatever. Co uk are cheaper but have to be registered for 2 years minimum. There will be additional charges for hosting packages but these are separate. it can be easier for the non techie to have the same company do both but I registered a couple of domains with the cheapest One& One and then point them to webspace hosted by Webmania - who are at least £20 a year cheaper than One& One for hosting.
