Iphone contract with O2

Options
I have Iphone contract with O2. My phone got damaged in a water leak. I don't have an insurance. O2 won't replace the phone. What can I do to cancel a very expensive contract?

...or a cheaper replacement phone that will run on the O2 network.

    Would that be street credible?

Try putting the phone in a bag of dry rice and put it in an airing cupboard or somewhere else warm for a few days - you might be able to bring it back to life.

Or buy a cheaper phone (some good cheap smartphones out there), and use it on that contract. You can sell your damaged one on ebay - even water damaged some sell for over £100!

How long have you had the contract - if you dont use all the minutes O2 will let you drop the contract to a lower price after 9 months.

Where was the water leak? In the home, on an office? Perhaps the buildings insurance may cover?

More so than no phone at all I suspect ;).

(Personally I don't think iPhone's are cool, but then neither am I :o)
