Morning all, wet and windy here too, but not too cold.
Today's plan is to dismantle some broken furniture and take it to the dump. It's been sitting in the passageway for weeks! Will also drop the charity shop stuff from under the stairs off. I should do some ironing too if I can face it.
Lunch is the same HM soup as yesterday and dinner is something unidentifiable I have just taken out of the freezer!
In the cupboard under the stairs I have found loads of odd balls of wool. So have decided to combine them and with really thick needles make a blanket. If I knit long strips then if I don't have enough to finish I can get oddments from charity shops to complete it. My odddments are left over from projects long gone and from impulse buys of the 'that's so pretty and so cheap' variety.
    Have a good day all.

Morning all. Not often I get to say that.
I am tackling my weight seriously now and my resolve seems to have spread to other things. I've started the Flylady thread again and am aiming to do at least 2 levels every day to try to keep on top of the housework. Mind you, it was 10.00 last night when I was dismantling my hob to clean it and nearly 11.00 when I got round to mopping the kitchen floor but it was nice to get up to this morning.

Today I want to try to finish my bit of patchwork as it's the last of the beginners classes tomorrow. I'm still not very good and progress is slow but I'm getting there. I've also got an overdue letter to write and lunch to cook. The Rev was supposed to be going off to the mainland today and I would have found it easier to get through what I wanted to do, but her jaunt was cancelled so it's coffee every hour and 'can you spare a moment', 'could you just read through this,' 'could you come here please,' 'will you answer the door?' And what really gets up my nose, 'are you busy?'

Making chicken pie for lunch, which may turn out to be chicken cooked in condensed mushroom soup, depending on what time I have.

RR: I was a bit unnerved by you saying that your Mum was 75!! What's with the exclamation marks? I myself am nudging 74 and would be very put out if anyone exclamation marked me. I might looked old and wrinkled but I'll have you know that I'm a sprightly 35 inside. Happy Birthday to your aged Mum anyway.

    Morning all,

Sympathies Miffy,Leo must have walked through something on the field .I didnt go in to the house straight away as I was putting leaves and garden debris in the green bin,and discovered the kitchen and living room needed mopping and a rug scrubbing. He's not wet though :DNever mind all done now.

Beemuzed thinking of you both-hope the treatment goes ok and DH doesnt feel too rough.
Shalva-hope you and your family are ok.
nlj- my Gran made me a blanket like that in long strips,I loved it and had it for years:)

I made a lot more C cards yesterday, prob have enough now, though any surpus is going on my friends stall at our Christmas market.

Not taken anything out for tea yet,but the freezer is going down quite well.DH is waiting for a biggish payment from some work that took a few weeks so I'm glad the freezer was full.I try to get it full over the summer to tide us over when work falls off over winter(self emp.builder, and DS2 works for him)I hope he gets paid this week, can't start any Xmas shopping till we get that in :( In my mind I was making space for a turkey, then remembered we are getting one off the farmer where DH stores his work stuff so its a fresh one and won't need to go in the freezer:rotfl:

    Morning all.

I am shameful today. I have done nothing. Am so lazy. Once I get up and start I shall be ok. It's just getting up and starting!

I always imagine everyone is approximately my age! Am 38. So Monnagran, you are 3 years younger than me ;)

Toddler has a very bad cough. Scared he's going to throw up from coughing. Anyone got any "cures"?

Right, I must hang up the wet washing.

    Take care all

That is a surprise - I had you down as a midlifer ;) While we're on the age topic, i'm rapidly approaching my last 40-something birthday!

    Hi all

Dull and cloudy today, as it seems to be all over, judging from the thread;:( luckily I don't have washing to put out today.:o

Islandmaid I've snagged that cinnamon rolls recipe; I'm thinking if I'm feeling well enough to make them, they'd be nice for brekkie for Mr LW's birthday.:o Failing that, Yule, perhaps.:o Or both.:D We both love cinnamon, it's something I always have in my cupboard.:o

Molly, Miffy, Tappers and Rosyred :eek::eek: @ the “smelly dog” competition!:rotfl: I've had to bath one of my regular guests, Ted. But it's because he has a skin condition, and the vet's prescribed twice-weekly baths in special shampoo to keep him comfortable, not because he rolls in anything pongy.:D Mr LW always helps, because it involves removing the bath lift, and of course I can't actually lift Ted. Once he's in the tub, I take over, then Mr LW lifts him out and he rolls on a bath towel. It's really funny!:D Ooh – I just had a scary thought – I hope I never, ever have to bath Dylan!:D
Tappers best wishes for Louie tomorrow, for his op.:o

Redruby no idea why you should suddenly love parsnips – don't worry about it, just enjoy them. I love parsnips, too, but didn't care for them as a child.:o Hoppy Birdday to your Mum.

Monnagran don't forget the age system where you add the figures together til you arrive back at a single number. So: 7+3=10; 1+0=1, so you're only 1 year old.;) By this system, I'm 7.:o

Mrs MH sorry, no cures,:( but hoping little'un's cough subsides soon. I take honey on a teaspoon to sooth coughs myself, but have absolutely no knowledge of treating toddlers, I'm afraid. Stop-coughing vibes on their way, hoping it helps.:o

Pizza for dins tonight; I've made the dough already.;) And the cherry crumble, which we started on last night and will have again tonight, is delish!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon all,

Both my deliveries have come so that's good, no more waiting in.

Have just cut my hair. It's shoulder length at the mo so just trimmed the ends and cut my fringe back in. I often grow it out and then cut it back. I go through stages of wanting one and then not. Noticed my dirty blonde roots are showing a bit so will put a colour on next week before my hols. Saves me a fortune. I always do it myself when I can. I've always messed with my hair, loads of different colours (shaved head in my mid teens:eek:) but I get bored very quickly.
Another one in her mid 40's how did that happen?
Monogran, I feel the same about my weight and definitely more positive in the rest of my life.

It's pouring down here and so dark I've had to put the lamps on.

    Afternoon all.

mrsmortenharket try raw apple cider vinegar (with the floaty mother bits still in)? Gargle with then swallow a mouthful or add a tbs to a glass of water.

redruby i guess it took 43 years for you to develop good taste ;)

I ended up taking the day off work as I felt so bl00dy awful when I got up. I actually managed to shower and make lunch before putting pijamas over my work clothes and crawling back into bed :rotfl: I have so much to do at work but at least I will be productive tomorrow now I'm rested and feeling a bit better.
I will put a load of washing on in a mo and make a quick sprout soup for dinner, other than that I shall mainly be sleeping and watching telly.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Very busy day at work & now a busy evening ahead, I am making a chocolate cake, a Victoria sponge, flapjacks & cheese palmiers .
If I'm not asleep by the time they are all cooked I'll do some more sewing.
    Have a good evening all.
    Hugs Hester
