Had car accident and don't understand excess

I didn't expect anything....hence the question mark.
I was wondering if others had any knowledge of keeping record of conversations or even just a record that a call to or from a number has been made.
Thanks
Nah, they won't have a recording. Some people seem to be recording their own calls with corporations now. It's easy and fairly cheap if you're so inclined.0 -

Ok - so basically sit tight and see how far insurance company takes it.
But they might have a record of a call from his number to me being made and vice versa. Not the actual call itself just a register that it has happened.0 -

That's true, but if the content of the call is subject to disagreement, it won't mean much when deciding liability. The circumstances of the incident, patters of damage and availability of witnesses or CCTV will be much more important.0 -

It might if he denies all knowledge of an accident..but i see what you mean.0 -
Have you got legal cover?
If so, just get them to claim your excess back for you. Your insurers will take an age to faff about getting their outlay back and usually are a bit of a pain to claim back policyholder excesses too.
If he's pratting about disputing liability then get your detailed description written down with a decent diagram, also some google maps images of the accident location and pictures of the damage to your car. Just be ready for battle.0 -
At last! The third party insurers have accepted liability.
Finally get the excess back..my credit card is wracked up as it is!0
