Hermes are useless never used them to send things but whenever I get items sent using them they always take forever from sending to me receiving them and I'm in London not some tatty little village.
Always annoys me when I pay straight away only for some cheapskate to use the slowest delivery possible, had to give a negative this week cos of it. Anyone using them must be aware by now they're crap.

I had 2 parcels go missing last week, one from myhermes and one for collect+
Both turned up today - so back to 100% success rate for both.
Both arrived within the delivery time i stated - but buyers were restless.0 -
I'm guessing you're one of the cheapskate sellers who charges parcelforce costs whilst using crappy couriers like myhermes to get an extra quid out of the sale. I pay in full straight after the auction ends and expect to receive the item asap, not a week or so after payment just cos you're happy to use useless but cheap couriers. You should be well aware how slow myhermes are and it's your responsibility to deliver within a decent timeframe don't go blaming the courier as your excuse for shoddy selling0

I use Hermes regularly. I haven't had any problems in about a dozen dispatches so far this year. My Stars and feedback are fine.
I've also received a few Hermes deliveries from Cotton Traders and other suppliers, all within a reasonable time frame.0 -
I'll never use hermes again either.
Booked a collection at 8.30am on a monday, for collection tuesday (between 8am and 9pm - 13hrs...really...?) The local delivery/collection driver eventually turned up on THURSDAY, while i was out (i was in all day tuesday and wednesday - so didn't miss him)
I'd cancelled on the wednesday evening and rebooked via UPS, I wasn't going to be in all day thursday and the buyer was expecting their item in time for the weekend, so i took the package with me and dropped it off at the UPS depot which was on my way to a hospital appointment.
It was delivered at 10am on the friday morning. If i'd let hermes collect it and given that their service is normally 3 - 5 days, it wouldn't of got there until at least the following tuesday. Far too late for my buyer and me...
I've phoned and emailed hermes and asked them why can't my local driver turn up when booked, the reply was basically "your only paying £6 - what do you expect?"
Obviously, UPS will be getting all my future parcel orders in future and unlike some ebayers, who offer several postal options, depending on weight and size, i don't. You bid, you win, you pay, you accept my terms. End of. but i'm always happy to let buyers collect...I even offer them a cuppa :coffee:0 -
Well, the latest update beggars belief!
Cotton Traders are sending a 3rd parcel and we are all keeping our fingers crossed.
The firm who sent the plants contacted Hermes and was told they will NOT deliver as our road is unadopted, they will NOT take a phone number so the courier can phone to meet me at the end of the road and they will NOT send the parcel to UPS as "it is too small"! So basically they are saying I cannot have this item I have paid for over 2 months ago.
The lady at the plant company sounded as p***ed off as me. She said they tried to fob her off with some old rubbish every time she phoned and she was amazed they were still in business.
So now what?0 -
I am self employed with Hermes, if the road is not to bad then i will deliver. I only have 2 roads in my area that i don't deliver to because they are that bad, both are long country lanes that are full of pot holes and you bounce all over the place.0

I appreciate your point cycloneuk, but as I said earlier our road is very well maintained and is constantly being tended to. Some of the residents drive very low slung sports cars along it without any trouble. But my argument is that even if our road was a mess if Hermes have accepted a parcel to deliver they should surely get it to me by some means, they have now refused to deliver it at all. I call that fraudulent trading, they have charged these 2 companies to deliver these parcels and they have no intention of delivering them.
It is nearly 6 weeks now since the first parcels were sent.0 -
Your road should be removed from your local couriers round to avoid them sending them back and causing delays, any parcels should be passed straight onto UPS for delivery.
Clearly not happening in your case, have you written to Hermes to complain? with more and more companies uses Hermes it is likely you will keep facing this problem unless resolved.0 -
I have been told twice, the first time over a month ago that my road was being removed from Hermes and all future deliveries would be by UPS, still it has not happened.
I agree entirely with your comment that as more and more companies use Hermes I will encounter this again and so will everyone else who lives in an unadopted road. That is why I think this firm is a con, if they are not going to deliver EVERY parcel they should not be in business.
Also Hermes say that if there is a problem with a parcel DO NOT contact them, but contact the sender. They clearly realise they will get a lot of irate people on the phone.0
