Robbie Williams at O2

I have tickets for Saturday night.
All that I can see is that doors open at 6.00pm, does anyone have any more knowledge of times than that? I have a standing ticket so want to be there in time to get to a good spot.
I assume (maybe wrongly) that as it's unticketed & ID/ credit card is needed to get in, this may be slower than a ticketed event.
Also, I'm staying at Docklands. Does the new cable car over the Thames get me to the O2?
Hopefully when others have been on Thursday/ Friday they will share the lowdown on what can be taken in etc.
Thanks

Yes, the cable car gets you to within a couple of hundred yards or so of the O2.
Check tfl.gov.uk for last car time back from the gig; look for Emirates Airline, not cable car....
EDIT
It'll get you there, but not back.

For the trip back I think it's jubilee line North to Canning Town, change onto DLR, on to Royal Victoria or whichever region of Docklands you're staying in.
If you're using an Oyster card, watch out on entry to 'tap in' with the Oyster at the small terminals on DLR, as these stations don't have gates like the regular tube stations - that can catch the tourist out, as it did me.....0 -
Whenever I have been to the London a gig, they don't open the mains at the arena until the time stated, but if it is a popular gig people do fill up the area in front of the doors. As security take tops off bottled water on your way into the venue, I would either have a spare bottle top in your pocket or take it off your bottle and hide it in your pocket, to put on when you get to your standing position. Water is expensive to buy in the venue and they do the same take off bottle tops on purchase. I think it does state somewhere that ther is no food and drink into the venue, but they seem to allow plastic bottles of water and soft drinks without tops on into the arena in my experience.0

I had an email to say doors open at 6.30pm and Robster on at 8.45pm if that helps.
However used my Step father's credit card to buy tickets not realizing he had to attend concert so doesn't look as if me and 3 others will be getting to see Robbie - any ideas?????? sobbing0 -

If you have the same surname as the credit card and you show ID and credit card that matches the ticket names with proof of address its likely they will accept it.
If you don't have the same surname then as its in a public space just persuade your father to show up and pick up the tickets - once he shows his card and ID they will hand him the tickets and then he hands them to you and toddles off home .
The rules are in place mainly to stop ticket touts selling tickets in advance and then selling them on at inflated prices.
The box office should have all tickets ready for collection by 4.00pm on the day of the show providing these tickets were purchased direct from the venue or Ticketmaster.0 -
I'm not sure that you will get in without the cardholder - depends whether they enforce what they have said. Has anyone any experience of similar tickletless events at 02?

RE: Robbie saga,
Thanks for your effort Brian but they are paperless tickets, not ones to collect - this is the dilemma.0 -
Thanks also TTC40 I have this info. I'm really trying to see if anyone has set a precedent and been allowed in without the person who owns the creditcard and if so how they argued their point. I obviously didn't read/understand the T's and C's correctly but think that as a 20 year Robbie Fan who is never going to give up her tickets to a scumbag tout there must be a way that they can bend the rules. Step-Father paid and I just want those seats to be filled with me and my girlfriends. Think Robbie would be disgusted if he new seats were paid for and unfilled because of some stupid clause that says somebody can't purchase tickets as a gift for you!!!!0
-
Surely I'm not the only stupid one? There must be parents who have used their credit cards to buy their teenagers tickets and won't be attending. Crazy, crazy sysytem or what!!!!!!!:mad:0

see http://ticketmaster.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/39315
if a customer’s circumstances have changed they can always contact our customer services team where we will offer to resell the tickets on their behalf. Once the tickets have been resold, the original purchaser will be refunded. The deadline for resale requests will be 24 hours prior to the event date.
why don't you contact them and explain the situation as I am sure this has caught out many people in the past0 -
I thought it would be useful for the e mail to be posts in case anyone has any prior experience.
I'm sure you are not the only one in the situation. If you can get a refund to the card paid on & then buy back on your card (or someone going ), that will solve it. Wonder if ticket master will do that?0
