Be aware that the Kenwood Chef is not a processor though, imho, it is miles better. The only thing I use my processor for is to scrunch large quantities of soup. The Chef wins hands down on everything else. And the old ones are cast iron and very strong. There is at least one thread here, I think, which is about the Chef (may be wrong) but if you Google you can find all sorts of information.
For grating cheese I use an old grater which sticks to the worktop with suction which Mum gave me when I went to university! It may have to be retired at some stage since the metal drums don't seem to like my relatively newly acquired dishwasher. But grating cheese in the food processor seems to generate too much washing up/bulky things in the dishwasher. How do other people grate cheese?! I've not tried Delia's cheat mini processor for that. Does it work?

My Kenwood is still going strong after 25 years. I got this 2nd hand. Think it was at least 10 years old when I got it. Love it. Did consider getting a newer model, but decided not to as there was nothing wrong with it & could not justify the expense. I have every attachment going including potato peeler, mincer, sausage filler, coffee grinder. These are all in the loft unused, but I can not part with them (not sure why as quite a big box). I got this for nothing from a relative as they did not use it.
I don't see the point of a newer model as my local repair man says they are not as robust. I suppose they do more things... I've got a modern potato peeler (not the old one which uses something like sandpaper!) but don't use it as much as I thought I would -- a poster encouraged me to get it. But if you have all those unused attachments, you might consider selling them on ebay. I think they usually go for quite a bit. I don't use my mincer very much, but in the happy days of DTD when the pork joints were being given away, I ended up mincing one or two. It was a bit fiddly, but the meatballs were out of this world!0 -

I have a plastic box with a metal grater top - when you've finished grater swaps for box lid. SimplesWas a quid at T a few years back and soon replaced all my fancier gadgets :rotfl:

My potato peeler (bad description really and its more of a new spud loose skin remover) is the sandpaper kind, one day in the summer my kitchen had a funny smell, over the next few days the smell got worse and worse, I had the fridge the freezer the cooker out checking but couldn't find the smell, in the end I traced it to the top cupboard my hubby had put away the peeler before it had been washed!! :eek:0 -
