Good reminder. I dropped off some ww meals, 2 enormous bags of sweets and 1 bag full of batter mixes last night at my local hostel. It is an easy thing for us Eliters to do as we know how to and have the resources to get things incredibly cheaply, whereas homeless people do not. If you have anything extra, give it to them and make their lives better, especially over the winter.

Yes it is an easy thing for us Selfless Eliters to do - and thanks for sharing with us, these are the kind of stories that mould this thread :)

I do:oAnd I must be really sad as I've just got all excited because I've just found a stack of £1 Lenor coupons from the T's mag(They were hidden with my Ariel coupons) and I've still got lots of car Lenor coupons which means I've got until the 4th December to get another 15 free bottles of Lenor:T:T:T

Are you sure this wasnt a dream?:)

    That's exactly it SFSB

But for the grace of God that could be any of us in that position. All it takes is redundancy, a death in the family, a relationship breakdown or in this economy just a couple of missed mortgage payments. I am not religious and I won't ram donating food down anyones throat but having spoken at length to the staff at my local food bank, it shocked me to find out just how many people are in need of such a service.

Over here in NI you don't reall see that many homeless people compared to the likes of Dublin or London anyway. Maybe I'm naive but I didn't think people could be so badly off they couldn't afford a tin of soup so I've stopped buying cheap useless fillers so I can get stuff of use like juice, tinned veg, soup, pasta, rice etc. Some day, any one of us could be in need of a food bank so I'm doing all I can, while I can.

    Sermon over :o

  • My DD2 just tried to put on fake tan and looked like a princess ( if you like Shrek ) Her new name is Fiona :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The fake tan was OOD :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've done that before:oFake tan thats out of date should never be used,I learnt the hard way:(It has something to do with the fact most fake tans are made of some sort of fruit acid stuff that just gets darker and darker and sort of ferments:eek:Or did I dream that, but I'm sure thats what I was told by a beautician:)
I wish my sweetie stash was small enough to fit into 50 FF tins but unfortunately not. I have enough tangfastics, flumps, giant mice, giant buttons, sp batter mixes, sp noodles and sp scourers to fill a small country. :D:D

However, I recently came across a small scam where everyone wins (apart from WW). SA permitting, you 'buy' 6 WW meals (using your £2.99 vouchers) + fillers, end cost to you (if you get enough different flavours of ww) is around 40p. You get an APG for just over £3 and you give the meals to a local homeless hostel.

This way you are helping out the unfortunate homeless people in your area and you get a 3 quid apg for your trouble to pay for your time, petrol costs and a very real risk of getting trouted!

The way I look at it, the food is better off filling the bellies of the needy, rather than the coffers of the large companies like WW.

Try it, if enough people do then the UK's homeless will have a much better Christmas than they ever thought possible.

    Voucher expires 31/12/12.

Thats a really nice thing to do:)We got a flyer put through the door today from a local church and you can make food donations to the church and they distribute it so Me and MrLala are having a bit of a sort out of stuff this weekend and doing our bit:)
