Would just like to share an idea I had, I have been buying smart price foods for fillers, ie biscuits, sauces, tinned vegetables, etc etc, and have been donating to the salvation army, who are making up hampers for those who are struggling this time of year.

They have been extremely grateful and mentioned there are more people than ever at this time of year in need.

Just wanted to share In case like me, you have enough seen enough flumps and mice

I've been getting tins of soup. At 24p they're not bank breaking and will be of more use than a flump. That's not to say I don't get the flump as well you understand as those things are addictive :o

My food bank says they are always short on UHT milk so that'll be my next mission. Not much point in the food bank having loads of cereals when there's no milk to put on them.

    Or is it just me.......:)

Me too, complicated shops involving various quantities of finest wines and foods or the smallest ammount you can spend on fillers in Sada involving mocs :T

Here I go again with my food bank reminder -

My local food bank will take just about anything. I asked them about all the cheap filler sweets and they said they keep them back for the kids so they got a massive bag in time for Halloween. I'm currently stashing my sweets and some biscuits to drop off in the next week or two in time for Xmas.
Good reminder. I dropped off some ww meals, 2 enormous bags of sweets and 1 bag full of batter mixes last night at my local hostel. It is an easy thing for us Eliters to do as we know how to and have the resources to get things incredibly cheaply, whereas homeless people do not. If you have anything extra, give it to them and make their lives better, especially over the winter.

Ditto here, I got the last one in my store this afternoon. Tomorrow is going to be fun finding stores that have stock of both trigger and FFA :D

I took the opportunity this morning to restock a few elsewhere in the store for tomorrow :D Always go for something like the really big tins of coffee which hardly move, and something well stocked but expensive so they are not likely to be spotted :)

However, I recently came across a small scam where everyone wins (apart from WW). SA permitting, you 'buy' 6 WW meals (using your £2.99 vouchers) + fillers, end cost to you (if you get enough different flavours of ww) is around 40p. You get an APG for just over £3 and you give the meals to a local homeless hostel.

This way you are helping out the unfortunate homeless people in your area and you get a 3 quid apg for your trouble to pay for your time, petrol costs and a very real risk of getting trouted!

The way I look at it, the food is better off filling the bellies of the needy, rather than the coffers of the large companies like WW.

Try it, if enough people do then the UK's homeless will have a much better Christmas than they ever thought possible.

    Voucher expires 31/12/12.

Yes, and of course everyone doing this scam as you so rightly put it will be donating to the homeless/food bank blah, blah...

  • An idea for the food bank, for those with the baxters coupon. In tesco with the current offer you can get 3 for 50p. Will go further than just putting the 50p in a box. Hoping that my local tesco has the food bank tomorrow.
