Not a significant birthday and my first one without my Dad :(

silvercar I hope you have a good birthday tomorrow, well as good as you can muster. It is always harder on all the 1st after losing someone :A

    everyone.....

A quick hello before I go back 11 pages to catch up..... not too bad a day here. :D It is pretty windy, but that's all we are having to deal with, I hope there aren't too many of you struggling with all the rain. :(

Quite happy as I have just treated myself to a new toaster and kettle. Almost ordered to collect from Argos as the ones I liked on there were half price, now £19.99 each, but I thought although this seemed pretty good i'd put my MSE hat on and look a little further.

After a little searching I actually found the SAME 2 items on Mr T's Direct at £17 each, normal price! :D So much for half price in Argos  So I added a couple of underbed storage boxes to get just over £40, had a £3 delivery to pay, then used the £10 discount code. £6 less than argos, plus 2 storage boxes and delivered to the door...... Mr T does have his uses. :j:j:j
  • Hi I have just tried the Simple Toner in T, should have compared at A at $1, but came up as Na. It is on MSM and As. Does anyone know why it didn't compare? I also got the moisturiser did compare. Tia

    Thanks Both!!

I actually don't want to open a dispute or sell it to them now as they appear notorious for leaving negative feedback!!
Can I just cut my losses and relist?

Locarr I've had this before, the first time I didn't go the non payer route and got 'burnt'. Next time I was better prepared and had learnt a little more
I would follow what CouponWoman is saying below, it makes loads of sense and it makes it a better cover for you

Sorry but its best you go the non payer dispute route. That way if they don't pay you can close the dispute after 4 days and they cannot leave feedback, and you get your end fee back.

If they did pay, you would need to post it, but send it by recorded delivery, just in case they claim not to have received the parcel.

If you ask them to cancel the transaction and they refusel, then you lose your fees and they can still leave feedback.

If you ask them to cancel the transaction and they accept, they can leave any feedback they chose.

If you decided to just sell to bidder no 2, then bidder 1 could also pay and you would be in a difficult position. Also bidder 1 could report you as a non performing seller.

It really is best to do the non payer dispute and then when you close it offer the item to bidder no 2.

Just don;t leave feedback for bidder 1 if you go the unpaid item route.

  • Daisyduck I have sent you a pm.

Hope all people in flooded areas keep safe and well throughout the night. Will be thinking of you - some of the footage on tv is fightening.

Have been going to and fro hospital today - OH had his ankle pinned today. Managed to wangle the consultant doing the job rather than somebody more junior (you can't specify on NHS - happy to tell anybody interested how I swung that one).

Apparently he is getting out tomorrow so I suppose I better switch into nurse mode tomorrow minus the uniform:rotfl:

Great to hear upbeat news of all receiving treatment - very heartening. Best wishes to all. Px

  • Goodnight everybody it's been great catching up. I hope you are all well and enjoy the rest of the evening.
I had a good whoopsies and coupon shop tonight.
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

  • Evening everyone :-)

Firstly Happy Birthday Fairclaire, sorry it's a bit late I know but better late than never :-p

Just sat down and wrote my TPP shopping list for tomorrow and my coupon shopping lists for Monday. I've worked out between the two shops I should be able to get a £60 spend to under £10 and receive a TPP for around £9. Will post results once they come in, wish me luck :-)

Have a great day tomorrow, hopefully should get on a little earlier

Just on a side note. RD isnt really any good for this, as rarely does it get a proper signature that is suitably recorded. If the item is under £42 (ish) you just need proof of postage, over that, pay for special delivery.

I do quite a lot of EBay and post abroad a lot. I use International Signed For or Airsure ( as some countries only take one). I posted 26 parcels in early October and 6 have still not been delivered. They were sent ISF (which is equivilant to Recorded Delivery).
With regards to Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery apparently the postman can actually sign for the delivery themselves and post the item through your letter box. So all in all a pretty useless service. I always get proof of postage and keep them safe. Also the compensation was 100 x 1st class stamp (49p) but when the postage went up to 60p in April the Royal Mail kept compensation at £49.00.
