I'd be very selective about any old rowing machine.

The BEST one is the Concept 2, it has an onboard tracker and can be linked to your computer, heart rate monitor etc.....you can even have online races against other people via the web.

I bought one three years ago and went from over 18 stone to just over 14 stone in 7 months. I can row the equivalent of 10KM in a little under 40 minutes and do that 5 days a week to stay in shape, I can also now eat almost like a horse and not put on weight.

Rather then buy a cheaper one new if you can pick up a 2nd hand Concept for around £300-£400 it's a bargain, the only thing is don't buy one from a Gym as they're often run into the ground....try to get one from a private owner if you can.

    HTH.

Sorry to quote myself but just to add here's the Concept online log where you can push yourself against others....good motivator.

    Thanks

'fraid I couldn't be trusted with such settings. I had to get rid of one before because it had a detrimental impact on my health :(
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
