My son lost his mobile about 8 months ago and had to get a new contract phone with Virgin,we thought there was about 6 months left on his old contract with Virgin which is only £8.68,however they are still taking the payments and never state on the online invoice how long is left on the contract, i know you can phone them to find out using your mobile but as it is lost is there a number to phone from another phone to find out?

Did you inform the provider you wish to end the contract after the minimum term? If not they will continue to take the monthly until such time that you do advise them (with the 30 day notice too)
As for the rest of the account details , you can view them online .0 -
thanks
It was a 24 month contract, i just assumed it ended then0 -
No these contracts just keep going until you terminate them.
Why did he get a new contract phone? Why not get a PAYG phone and ask for a replacement sim, then he could have used his existing contract in his new phone.0 -

It is a 24 month minimum commitment, from month 23 you can offer 30 day notice, the time the handset was lost, suppose you could have offered notice then and paid the remaining contract there and then, it's part of the learning curve I guess0
