BT Broadband and LoveFilm via XBox

I have BT Broadband (Infinity Option 1 - 40GB Monthly allowance) and Love Film where I watch Love Film Instant via an XBox (ethernet connection).
According to LoveFilm an average film should use 500mb of bandwith. According to the BT usage monitor it's using anywhere between 2 and 4GB.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is Lovefilm's estimate way out?
Appreciate any insight / advice / experience
Thanks
Debbie

some films on Lovefilm are in HD so they would use much more than a non HD film. 3-4 sounds about right for a film in HD.
Why the ethernet cable?0 -
Thanks Sniggings - I'll check next time whether it's a HD film or not.
I connected it via Ethernet when I was on normal BT broadband as the wifi connection kept dropping out. Never unplugged it when I switched to Infinity. Is there a better option?
Thanks

if you have problems with your wifi connection then it's not a problem using ethernet but maybe worth finding out what the issue is, sounds like a coverage problem if your ethernet is working fine, as both are coming from the same source, but if your happy with the cable it's not a problem, just if I were to use one it would be a bit messy.
Give it a try it might be ok now.0 -
A normal SD film to download from a torrent is around 700MB for medium quality,a HD film would be around 1.7 to 4GB & over.A normal TV program like CSI Miami in SD would be around 455MB to download to my Sky box,not having movies I don't know the size, hence my reference to torrents.

Thank you Spike - your figures will help as I check consumption over the next few days.
