Phones4U problem
Recently bought a cheap pay as you go mobile for my mum to use in emergencies with T-mobile as service provider. It was a Motorola L6. However when I tried to use it at my mum's address there was poor call quality, that was when I was able to make a call at all as it continually came up emergency calls only. It would also cut off during calls.
Phoned T-mobile who said there was no problem with coverage.
Returned to the Phones4U shop where I bought it where they replaced the handset (same type of phone).
Exact same problems occurred.
Returned to the shop where I "discussed" their returns/faulty policy with the manager who stated it must be a phone fault if the network was fine and despite having a sign on the desk stating that i was entitled to a refund on faulty phoned with T-mobile pay as you go refused to comply.
I now have another Motorola phone (different make) and will be going to mums tonight to see if I have the same problem.
If I do I will be planting myself in front of the manager at 9 tomorrow morning requesting a refund.
The other issue I have is that the £20 airtime which I purchased they state cannot be refunded and they continually stated that they could not refund despite having notices up to the contrary and it being within the 14 day period (which runs out on th 19th).
Any advice regarding Phones4U or the situation in general would be appreciated or anyone having had similar problems I'd be grateful to hear from.
Cheers

Yes, have you tried other manufacturer's phones and different network sims to see if they work. If they do it may then point to the Motorola being the problem?
Can you put her sim into your own phone and try that?0 -
Double check on the T-Mobile Street Check to see if its a coverage problem, they havent put their hands up to.

Credit will not be refunded on any PAYG phone unfortunately. The system doesn't allow for this and with no real way around it, best thing to do is to use up the credit.
Most stores won't refund it because its a T-Mobile PAYG and there is no 14 day policy on T-Mobile PAYG, but because its faulty it can be done.
Hope that helps
