I would tell people if they want it they should click the buy it now, otherwise you could agree to sell to one person then someone else clicks BIN and could end up leaving you bad feedback when you tell them the item is no longer available.

Gosh I never thought of that. I better email them both and tell them.

    Thanks

I have seen auctions where the listing states that "this item is advertised elsewhere and I will end this auction if sold"
It's your item and you can do what you want.
Relist if buyer doesn't turn up with cash.
Just because you've seen it on other auctions doesn't mean it's allowed.
    What not to do
    You must not:
    • List an item that may be out of stock by the time of purchase
    • List an item that you're simultaneously selling outside of eBay
    • Offer an item that may not be what's delivered to the buyer
    • Offer an inflated number of items in a multi-quantity listing

I agree, End the auction first.

I didn't put it up for auction as sometimes things go for very low prices and I would rather relist it again if I got no interest the first time.price
Items wont ever go for a low price if you start at the minimum you want instead of 99p or something other daft figure.

Yes but sometimes you put people off when you start at a high price. I was going to do that but thought I would have a go a free fixed price option.

I often have people tell me their ebay stories- I never can understand the moan that 'item went for much less than I wanted, do I have to sell it' question though. Surely that is what a start price is for?

Have they actually pressed the buy it now button though cos if they haven't someone else could press it tonight and then you would need to sell it too them or get neg feedback.

yes they have. that is why i contacted them and asked them to do it.

i tried to sell a few things earlier this year by auction and put the starting price too high and got no bids, so that is why i thought i would try this way. there is no way of knowing which is the best way you just have to try it and see.
