Well, start with something then. What do you need the phone for?
How many minutes? Texts?
Do you need mobile internet?0 -

Currently I send about 10 texts a month, and use about 1 minute a month at most. Literally use it for emergencies only!
But I send a lot of emails, so would like to be able to do that on a phone. I also tweet a fair bit, so it would be good if I could do that on the move. I would like to be able to do google searches etc too.
Also, I would like to be able to take decent photos and put them on twitter. I originally thought I wanted a camera, but OH said I might as well get a phone with a good one in it.
Don't want to spend too much, if that doesn't go without saying!
Thanks!

I think pay as you go is the best option. Try looking for a plan that rewards you for top ups (most big networks have them, for example Orange Doplhin: when you top up £10 and you get 400 text + 100mb internet access free for next 30days and you keep all the credit). Most of the better phones have a built in wi-fi so if you have a wi-fi connection at home he can access internet for free just by connecting to your existing network at home. He will only need internet access to download the game (and updates when they come out) but he can play them anywhere without the need to go online.0

I think it is equally poor for texts and minutes too if compared to ovivo, giffgaff, virgin mobile that give much better value for money without any tricks with rewarding for topups.0 -

Thanks, but the link does not work anymore.
Ovivo sounds ideal however!
