What to do with half an egg

It isn't an answer to your question, but would you consider using a couple of spoonfulls of milk as a wash rather than an egg?

    This.

Otherwise, I'd suggest separating the egg. It's a lot easier to use up either a yolk or white in something else (and they both freeze fine) than half a beaten egg. I tend to just add the yolk right into the pastry dough for added richness, and use the white for glazing. Very little waste that way. :)

egg also makes a good hair conditioner - put it on dry hair then wrap in clingfilm and leave for ten mins, now rinse in LUKEWARM water and apply shampoo as normal.

do NOT use hot water for rinsing unless you want scrambled egg on hair and for it to pong despite repeated washes!

For the sake of half an egg I really couldnt be bothered unless I was going to have scrambled egg or omelette for tea and just add it to the other ones.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Beat it up, microwave it carefully (slowly/watching it), until you've got a simple/small omelette. Freeze that. Once you've got a collection you can take two, shove something in the middle of them (e.g. cheese), heat that up (nuke or fry) and you've a small snack cheese/other omelette.

Or, if you make curries, some have a random 1 egg omelette on top.

Or, you could nuke one and put it on top of a crumpet, with a bit of cheese on top of that.

Or, hot or cold, use 2-3 as a sandwich filler, along with any other random things you've got that'd go in a sandwich with an eggy.

Have you tried this? It sounds like a nice dessert for 2.

On a larger scale. I just imagine it would work, though I also imagined it serving one ;)

    Hi

I like to use an egg wash when making pastry but never use all of it, instead of wasting the remaining egg how can I keep it until I can add it to something or what can I do with half an egg?

Freeze it until you next need to egg wash something.

That's what usually happens in this house, but I nuke it in the microwave first.
