Hello,

Currently have a Samsung Tocco Lite that I'm not all that keen on and can be tempermental. I've had it for over three years so I was thinking of getting something else.

I like the iPhone, 4s or 5 and the S3 but they are all quite expensive options and I'm not sure I'd use the phones enough, or use the full capabilities of the phone enough to really make it worth spending the money on it, either on a low level contract or buying it upfront and getting a GiffGaff contract or something. (thoughts on that welcome too).

So I have heard of the Nokia Lumia series as an alternative, but I really don't know much about them. Can anyone say what the best one of the range is and how they compare with the other two please.

Thanks

you can find the specs for all phones online
once you get past the specs,
then its down to what you want from the phone and what suits you
all 3 will do most tasks
you are not going to get a clear X is better than y & z on these threads

The handsets you mention are the latest and greatest today, but tomorrow they won't be, it is expensive to always have the most up to date device, clothes etc etc
If the Tocco lite has served you for several years then it is not as if you require the top of the line flagship device, many current handsets will surpass your toco lite and meet your budget , perhaps consider a samsung galaxy ace 2 (not the ace) .
But as for an out and out best? There is not one.

why not look at a nexus 4 - you will have to wait a little while but you will get all of the capabilities of the phones you have mentioned but at half the price.

Value for money wise you can't beat the Nokia Lumia 800. It can be had for around £150 new at the moment, compared to the £400-500 for the others you mentioned. Or have a look at the Sony Xperia range, the Xperia U is going for about the same price as the Nokia but the screen is a bit smaller than the others.

Having a Lumia as a back up, I dislike it, and the awful App Store. The on,y saving grace is the screen which is superb. That said, a s/h as new iPhone 4 may be a better option for hoy for features and cost. GiffGaff do not do contracts, but you will beed to look at their data bundles and buy one of them to keep connectivity affordable.
