Credit card statements being sent to my old address!!

Please don't wreck your credit file for the sake of being pedantic. Pay what they ask then dispute if necessary. The havoc you will suffer if you end up with defaults etc.on your file will bother you much more than your moral high ground will bother the company.0

I get what you're saying, and I get why you are annoyed, but is it not a bit cutting off your nose to spite your face?
Worst come to worst, you make a payment which is incorrect, and you can sort it out with your bank or Vanquis later. If you got an advance, you must know roughly how much you should be paying?
Also, if it's been 6 weeks, you must have received a monthly statement from somewhere that you can now use as proof?
I wouldn't say so no. I would have paid until the guy started saying that they were obliged to send a statement and i asked even if that conflicted with the data protection act and he didn't answer it
Everything i have is online billing. I've spoken to the bank who posted out a reprint of my statements which cost me by the way and they still had my old address on them, there was a cover letter with my new address but apparently Vanquis wouldn't accept this.
I just think they should stop sending letters to my old address if nothing else0 -

If they keep endangering my personal information I'll take legal action.
This isn't about moral high grounds, this is about potential identity theft0 -
I can totally see why you're frustrated and annoyed with them, I would be too.
however, as others have said, missing the payment is NOT a good idea.0 -
I don't get it, surely you have proof of your new address either by virtue of a tenancy agreement or by purchasing the property. You have to get your driving licence updated and they send that through in less than two weeks so you've had plenty of time to get proof of address.
If you are concerned about your data being sent to your old address then you should do mail redirection. Without it you have no idea if they've stopped sending mail there or not. If you have taken the advance and that shows on your bank statement then you really need to make a payment otherwise your credit record will be legitimately ruined, it's up to you that you haven't provided proof of your new address or redirected your mail, why should they just accept you not paying?I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.

Although, if they are phoning up asking the OP to make a payment, it's probably a moot point anyway.
The payment has already been missed, credit file is now more trashed than it was already (when Vanquis is your best option etc etc etc).
What you should have done is informed Vanquis of your new address, and asked them about the fact that the card had not arrived yet, at the same time ask them what the payment date would be be and details in order to make a payment in time.
or just redirect your post for 6 months, which only costs about £20 for 3 months.
You also askedHow many people pay bills without looking at the statement/invoice?
The answer is lots of people, especially if you know roughly how much it is likely to be. I spent many years making a phone payment of a few hundred pounds on payday for a credit card, as I couldn't face looking at the actual amount.
You knew you would have to make a payment, you've now missed making it, and your file is rapidly progressing down the toilet. The plan for a Vanquis card to build your credit score is seriously flawed if you don't pay the bill. Which you HAVEN'T paid, and you KNOW is due.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0 -

I hope they have put a stop on the card & PIN they sent out to your old address.
Or someone could be having a fun time spending your money.
While many companies will update you to your new address. They will also send conformation to the old address.
Where did you think the card would go. It is standard procedure to only send a new account card to the address used in the application and not even redirect it to a branch for someone to pick up....
Its called protection from ID theft.
You should always set up mail forwarding to cover at least 1 month when you move to pick up any mail in the crossover. If they keep endangering my personal information I'll take legal action.

But it is you who have endangered it. While you have told them not to send mail.
Clearly their procedures are to still send it out.
TBH. I agree with them. The case you put forward stinks of ID theft from the start.
New account, advance, then move and ask to change address or not send mail out. Then refuse to pay money owed.
Look at that from their point of view.
I would not be surprised if they close the account and start chasing you for the debt.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Which will be?
This is the job of the ICO, and you will not get very far. You will have to show an actual loss to seek any compensation, and so far any imagined incompetence by them is just that and not actionable.
As for 'potential' ID theft, what might happen is not pursuable at any stage. As your credit file will be fried regardless, it makes sense to pay them before things get worse.0 -

I moved address before getting the card in the post
Every credit card I've ever applied for has come through within two weeks of the application. How long do Vanquis usually take?
Who in their right mind applies for a credit card knowing their address is going to change within a couple of weeks?0 -
As for proof of address, have you not changed the utilities to your name? It's a long while since we moved but surely they would have to confirm meter reading etc? You must have some form of official letter within the last 5-6 weeks surely? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
