How Quickly do Sky install?

Hi, we are moving in the next week or so, currently have VM, but want to have sky in the new house for tv, broadband and landline.
The new house already has a sky connection, and a dish up, so was just wondering how quickly they come out these days to get everything up and running?
Also, when im being quoted around £50 a month for the package i want, it mentions nothing about that being a price for the first 6 months etc, so is that what price it will stay at?
Thanks in advance

I would imagine that the TV will be up and running within a couple of weeks, your broadband is to some extent dependent on BT Openreach connecting you up at the exchange, which could take a bit longer.
Caveat Emptor. Check what you signed up for. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
If there is already a working dish and LNB, then you can just plug in your own box and you'll have the TV service running straight away. The box neither knows or cares what address it's at (unless it's a Multiroom contract).
The phone and broadband service are installed by BT OR, and the leadtime will depend on if it's a new line provision or a reconnection-it could be anything up to 2 months at this time of year.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Macman,OP has Virgin Media so it's unlikely they'll have their own box.
OP,It'll take longer than normal this time of the year as it's the busy period for Sky's installers, same with all the other suppliers,0
