Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 17th November 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Good news about uolypool's son.
Molly I hope you are ok.
Hugs to those in need, sorry, I'm having a blonde moment, I can't remember names.
I've changed my avatar to reflect how I'm feeling at the moment!
Woohoo it's Saturday, hubby is off to work at 8, I shall drop him off & then go to the butchers, they do 1 kg of bacon scraps for £1.69 & a couple of people at work want one. I need to buy some bread for us as we are nearly out.
I've been planning my wish list on Amazon, I'm getting £40 of vouchers next week, yippee.
Time I fed the fish, they are glaring at me for keeping them waiting.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hello Hester and All Who Follow xx
Thank you for asking after me - Im ok (ish) - Hugs to you xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

DS is off to work so I will have to wake him to, I am the house alarm clock.

Morning All
Up early for some reason this morning, must have been the late night at work last night - some guests are very messy!! Boss had a major meltdown because she wasn't coping and was tired so ended up not speaking to any of us!
DD has gone off to work, I must do some housework and shopping today, not sure about the washing yet, it's not raining so that's a bonus but don't think it will brighten enough for line drying.
Uolypool - So glad some progress has been made, you have been a tower of strength to your DS, well done. I know you both have a long way to go and good luck.
I have just read yesterday's thread but can't remember who I wanted to reply to so hugs all round, especially if you are feeling down or poorly.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Good morning everyone
It was pouring down with rain when we went to bed last night and it's still at it this morning, I hope this doesn't last all weekend.
I managed to sleep for 10 hours last night, which is amazing for me. I normally wake up at "work time" i.e. 5:30am, every weekend and holiday day but must have been exhausted. The weird thing is I don't feel any better for it and am still tired.
If the rain stays on, it's another clutter attack today then a trip to Oxfam and some ebay listing. Need to go and drop some text books off at DDs and give GDD a talking to. DD says she has been very naughty and she takes more notice of me than her. Hmm thanks for that, it's not a job I relish!
Tomorrow I am working in the afternoon so need to get washing, ironing and some cooking out of the way too. Oh and a bit of shopping for fresh bits and pieces, store cupboard and freezer are still looking healthy.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to the lovely Sistercas, hope you have a lovely day xxx
No rain here, but looks like we are due some, shame as I have 3 loads of washing to get through, I am sure the basket was almost empty yesterday.
Need to drop dd at work this morning, and OH and I are off to a local animal rescue center, its their Xmas fair today, and they have loads of stalls, and we get a sneak at the amimals
Dinner tonight will be soup and bread, and I will make a rhubarb crumble, I have some rhubarb in the freezer from the garden, we can have ice cream with this.
Uloypool, Please tell your son I think he is amazing, what a very brave lad he is, I am sure it helps to have you behind him too, all the very best for you all xx
Beemuzed, how is DH getting on ?
Ok, have good days all xxx0 -
Morning all
Sistercas - happy birthday! hope you have a fab day x
Managed to sleep through the night again, although did wake up earlier than I had hoped. Not sure what to do today. There are different vintage fairs on in the next town both today and tomorrow, I can't be bothered to drive over twice in a weekend so need to decide which day to go. I'll go visit family too as my parents and both nan's live that way. Think I'll go today actually, gives me something to do!
OS wise - not much needs doing apart from putting the laundry mountain away and a quick tidy up.
Have a good day all
