I replace the broken bits and pieces, as my OH and i have only lived together for 3 years we're slowly building a collection so I do get new stuff too. The tree has stayed the same for the 3 years since we got a 40+ piece set of christmas decorations.Trying to save up for a deposit for a mortgage....could be a while!!

Usually we have a mish mash of decorations on the tree and about our home. I tend to have a few new ones every year.
However this year I lost my Dad very suddenly in a terrible accident and just can't bear to put up the usual tree and decorations. So this year I'm 'toning' it down a bit and am just having the tree with a theme of 'metallics,' a snowflake garland, some candles strewn about and lights, and of course a wreath on the door.
Hopefully next year I will be back to going the full shebang. I looked at the all the Christmas stuff in the loft and just couldn't do it this year.
I do still have a little bit of Christmas spirit left though

We buy a few new bits every year, but have tons of stuff. But I have to use almost all of it, or I feel bad for the bits left in the boxes. We still have stuff from when I was little. I could never throw anything old out, no way!
(I have even kept a few strings of lights from the '80s that don't even work anymore, cos I can remember us using them when I was a toddler.) :embarasse:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0
