Hey Kelpie35 and everyone I am feeling a wee gutted about not been on writing in a couple of days but to be honest I am feeling slightly down in the dumps, Its weird because my believe is turn a positive situation from a negative one Theres light at the end at the tunnel i can go on and on,but truthfully I am getting quite seriously worried about my fathers health and his behaviour i just dont know what to do for the best, I love my family deeply i really do but its hard. Although dad has various things wrong with him His main issue trying to cut a long story short is he needs an operation on his brain to ease rising pressure, he has been to see a surgeon but he cant do the operation cause my dad is overweight by about 3 stone and if he was to do it and because dad has a bad heart he would die you think dad would try and help himself but he is stuck in his ways and will not change if he doesnt get the operation with rising pressure it could affect him in different ways sight hearing mobility i could go on, My dad has become snappy now with everyone even my daughter he complains of head pain, confusion, he falls on a weekly basis, But i know i cannot turn my back they are my parents they are family I want a future especially after debt i have made so much progression I am putting Money into my Isa account on Monday i have money now how cool is that But just maybe i am going to have to think of being here for a year or so and once i am debt free move into a property for me and Emma lou giving us space but still quite close to home so i can keep a watchful eye Tomorrow i am going to get back on track with things.0

Hi Happy Daddy. I know what it is like to struggle with ailing parents who are aging. You love them so much and want what is best for them, but they have their own ideas about how they want to live. I think when this happens it is we who become the parents and they become like our childres and life comes full circle.
To help your dad with overweight, is there anything you can replace in the larder with a lower fat option?

NewLeaf and Beanie Lou Thanks Guys i really do appreciate what you are saying i really do, I think my issue comes down to my caring background and what i do, I work within Mental Health I work with adults that have alcohol and drug misuse that have led to Brain Damage I see so many sad situations and even death, I guess i am feeling frustrated I am just trying to protect him if that makes sense0

Yes, it does make sense that you want to protect your dad.
Baby steps is maybe the way to go.

Happy Daddy you MUST NOT beat yourself up about your dad's situation, but I do understand what you mean.
I think with all the extra overtime you have been doing and the worry of your Mum being in hospital it has taken it out of you both mentally and physically.
I hope you find the time this weekend to relax and recharge your batteries.
You are a determined young man and things will work out for you. It might just take a little while longer than you anticipated.
Take care and keep your pecker up.0 -
Hi happydaddy try cheer up and not worry so much sometimes people that dont want to help themselves just make us that worry about them feel worse im sure youll dad will come to his senses and sort things out with weight etc , anyway have good nights sleep0

It must be very tough for you at the minute, but I agree with what the others have already said. Try to stay positive and take one day at a time.
Chin up and take care
