Keep my number fiasco

Options
I currently have a mobile phone with

orange that isnt working properly. It

was a 2 year contract and its up in

january. I wanted to just upgrade

early and pay off the remaining

contract but orange said I couldnt do

this as they would not upgrade that

early.
ok fine.
So i took out another contract with a

new phone i got from dial a phone,

again with orange. I phoned orange to

cancel the old contract and pay it off

(which was no problem) but they would

not let me keep my old number. Orange

said if I was changing from Orange to

another company there would be no

problem but as its going from orange

to orange they could not do it.
Absolutely ridiculous I know but my

query is this:
Can i send the phone back to dial a

phone and cancel the new orange

contract ive signed even though dial a

phone havnt actually done anything

wrong?
Many thanks in advance

    Ask for PAC code.
Buy a £10 sim from another network
    Transfer your number.
Ask new network for PAC code.
Transfer it back to your new Orange contract.

As far as your question, they are correct.

    1. What he said. Or, yes if you want. Subject to Dial a phones terms re: opening or using the phone.
