Vodafone PAC problems
Options
As from other threads I have posted, it is obvious that I am moving various suppliers. It is also true that not everything goes to plan!
I got my PAC code easily from Orange. This was a monthly account. I moved to a PAYG Vodafone sim and put a £10 Freedom Freebee on. Exactly a week ago I gave my PAC to Vodafone who said the transfer of my old number would be done by the end of Monday. It wasn't, but the old number which everyone had, had been discontinued by Orange. I was also told my Freebee balance would be transferred over from the new Voda sim..
Wednesday, I requested again and was told that nothing had been actioned as I was talking to the contract team not the PAYG team. FOUR times after countless holds, they said they would transfer me to PAYG and FOUR times I was put back to the contract team. Finally I asked PAYG to contact me and they say they will action this urgently.
Today, Friday I note that the transferred number now appears when I do *#100# on my phone and My Account on Voda's website shows the transferred number but no funds.
More worryingly, neither old or new number is now active. I get put through to the wrong team again, but finally, someone from PAYG makes the new number active....however, no fund transfer. I try to log in to My Account, but get the 'account locked' flag immediately.
I contact again and am told to start a new account for the transferred number (although it had shown in my account that morning!?) and that it would have a zero balance. Having then explained that I was promised the unused £10 transfer....someone finally put this amount in to the new account on the transferred number (although my Freebee rewards were lost)
I hate to think what would happen to someone who wasn't persistent and who ended up with no mobile for nearly a week (especially as my BT land line was faulty...see other threads!!) on either old or new number or who lost the £10 they had just paid to come over to Vodafone.
It should not take around 20 calls to sort something this simple out....and the option 2 needed on customer support is a fixed 25p
call!!!
Note: If you transfer a contract number from another company to a Vodafone contract, the transfer can be done on their website!
