6 Month Broadband in Birmingham

Hi all,

I am currently in the process of renting a property for 6 months in Birmingham, Ladywood, with a mate of mine. This is due to our summer commitments being undecided, as I am an hourly paid lecturer, I have no guaranteed income in the summer months!

My future flat mate depends on internet access for a living, as will I to get emails from work. I understand that most broadband providers only offer 12-18 month contracts.

I am therefore asking if anyone has information onto what providers would support 6 months contracts, as well as catches with them! I would prefer not to use a dongle, as two of us would like to use the internet at once, and that would mean splashing out on two seperate dongles.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Plusnet do a 30 day rolling contract

There is a set up fee though £25 and need to buy the router by the look of it

Just 10 days notice to terminate

Do you think it would be worth taking a cheaper BB deal and terminating after the contract with the flat is up, so 6 months?

Obviously there is going to be a big penalty? But may be better than a short term contract?

Short term broadband contracts are easy, line rental is the more problematic issue-though there are some deals available for less than 12m.
But you don't say if the property already has a working landline?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
