dimbo61 Much as her sentiments seem in order the reality is that it is better to go on to his patch and watch his moves and be emotionally, financially free to come and go - leaving the odd garment in his wardrobe, rather than becoming homely and start on a cooking course and waiting for him to come and go at whim.

Going from living with your parents to owning a home together is a massive culture shock - neither of you have any recent experience if paying bills. Your options seem to involve your girlfriend knuckling down, yet I don't see evidence of her wanting to do that.
Your girlfriend's lack of savings suggests she is either poor at budgeting or she has no real interest in buying with you in the near future. Do either bode well for your relationship?
