I love your diary, read it from beginning to end... I am a fellow cat lover.. I have two boys both are asleep in the bedroom as we speak snoring loudly.....
Felt sad to read about the poor girl above but at least she found some peace.. I really hate people who say cats are independent and dont need company or love. I have no idea what sort of person could leave any animal alone by itself.
My boys each have their own personality, and adore all of us... I do think you are brave taking in 9.. I nearly got to three but the look I gave o/h was not reciprocated and we really could not afford a third... However I would have to take in any strays I found... :D
  • ahh thats sad about the cat :(

i have two cats. one is ginger & miserable and one is grey & adorable :)

Got the first of my musicmagpie cheques today, and the old mattress and spare sofa are out the front waiting to be collected tomorrow, so happy days re reclaiming the diningroom.

  • hi Tiglath, Ive just read through all your diaries and I have to say you are so inspiring - I have horrendous debts which I am paying back through an IVA finishing this August:j - I have lots of pots that Im trying to put the few odd bits and pieces in from my purse and frugal is going to be my middle name now and when I am debt free I will start helping my OH by paying extra from his cc's. I will keep following your diaries and will attempt to do a spreadsheet but I dont hold out much hope for myself hahaha
Best of luck on your journey

Early start for a Saturday - cat no 8 beat up cat no 9, and cats nos 3, 4 and 6 came to jump on me and tell me all about it. I had planned a lovely lie-in on my new mattress, but DH was a bedhog so I decamped to the backroom at midnight. I'm banishing every living thing from the bedroom tonight.

Another payday - another £800 paid off. Will probably have to buy glasses this month as well so have set some money aside for that, plus my birth-mother's not well so we're going down to see them in a couple of weeks to take everyone out for a pub lunch. February was a tough month because I paid out car tax, the fence replacement, the new orthopedic mattress and the juicer, but I got through it and even managed a takeaway last night as a rare treat. The 2nd music magpie cheque arrived, so I'm off to the bank this morning to pay that and a load of spare coins in.

Other than that, it's business as usual - DH finally got round to increasing his contribution to me so I'm putting away something each month to cover his car costs. I've definitely slipped on the taking food into work plan, so need to get back to that. I didn't log the grocery budget for February and it shows, so back to that. The freezer's are chockful so March will probably be quite a frugal month shopping-wise. Apart from that, everything's going well - I can't seem to get into studying at home in the evenings because I'm always knackered, so from Monday I'll be getting into work for 6am to do a couple of hours before the day starts while I'm at my freshest. No-one's called me back about the glucose tolerance test so I'm presuming that was all fine.

So much for 2013. Just got a phonecall from my half-sister to say my birth-mother died this morning.
