Vaillant boilers

I have decided to go for a new vaillant boiler - not yet decided between ecotec pro or plus 24! Seems the difference is the look!
Now I am grappling with the issue of the thermostat and timer.
Should I go for normal analogue timer and thermostat or should I go for a wireless thermostat and timer?
It seems the wireless timer only has 3 on-off time periods a day which is no good for me as I don't have thermostat valve on the radiators so I tend to have at least 6 or 7 on-off a day....
What do you guys advice?

Why would you need your heating on 6 or 7 times a day? The boiler thermostat will turn the boiler off when it reaches temperature, then kick back in when it cools...0

While the system is already drained down, have the TRV's fitted. The extra cost will be the parts plus a bit of labour. Crazy to have a new boiler and not update the controls. You can have a wired or wireless digital programmer. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Steer clear of wireless. Wired stats are much more reliable and arent knocked out by wifi or microwaves.0

Worth looking at the Myson MPRT chronostat as this allows each hour of every different day of the week to be at one of three different temperatures; also has a smart learning mode and also has a one hour override button for instant heat. I've a wireless version (which for us works fine) but also available in a hard-wired version.0

Sorry mis-read your post, I thought you were talking about a timer, not a programmable room stat.0

Lgas i read it the same as you why on earth would you want to time it to come on & off 7 times a dayI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Absolutely steer clear of the Vaillant wireless programmer, it's completely useless. Have had 2 replacements due to problems, but still no better. Changes to German every few days, and fails to communicate with the boiler often enough meaning that our house temperature yo-yos throughout the day. Now looking at returning to a tried and tested wired thermostat.0

We had a Valliant ecotec plus 831 fitted 18 months ago. Very economical and we are very very impressed with it !! We have the wireless Valliant controller VRT 392f ???? and can only praise it. Instead of having it fixed to the wall, we simply move it to which room/area we are in, and that then just heats up to whatever to set it at, instead of having lots of rooms that you are not in, too hot. Our gas bills are peanuts aswell. We had a Vaillant combi boiler in our old house, and will have one in our next house.0

how do you work that one out then ?
if you don't have trv's on the rads in the rooms you aren't using they are going to heat up anyway unless you constantly go round & keep turning them off & on, if you do have trv's & set them correctly then they will turn off the rads anyway, so either way it's a pretty pointless exercise, fix it to the wall & use the trv's to do what they are designed for.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
