Just the thread title has me suffering nausea.
Explain to Vodafone retentions the senario.
You could try get a new contract re-grade to RED deals with or without handsets, sell old & poss new handsets & ask for a reduction in them 6 months with balance remaining to be applied to next bill, you now have 2 or 4 phones to sell to clear that bill & a cheaper new RED contract term. No need to default on account & Voda sell debt at a loss.
Voda & customer win/win.
Any network is unlikely to give a reduction to clear existing 6 months payments if the customer is leaving the networkSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
One further thought:
If she is already in a big financial muddle, does one more default make that much difference to her credit file?
Would she really be worse off if she defaulted on the phone? The money might be needed for higher priority debt reduction.
Better to default on your mobile than have your gas and electricity cut off for non-payment?
I don't know enough about this sort of thing. Could more knowledgeable folk here advise?0 -

 Strangely enough i don't think she has any defaults (i checked her Noddle credit file for her) She pays gas and elec on pre payment meter. Her financial muddle is down to her local council (see previous thread if you need more info)
To be fair i don't think she gives a hoot about her credit fileshe's never had a cc nor any desire for one. Her problem is day to day spending and her going into her overdraft (she is a care worker and earns around £400-£500pm with tax credits on top at £185 a week)
Forgot to add, she will be selling the old phone come April for £2-300 so will have a bit of spare cash back. Until then with the truck selling she is ok.DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
Hi sistafromanothermista,
I hadn't seen that matters had developed here before I posted in your other thread here.
Whilst I can see that a solution has been found if your sister would like any further assistance she's welcome to get in touch with me.
Kind regards,
Lee

Hi OP, I'm actually at the end of my Voda agreement but I called them up to cancel and they've offered me a year on the same package for £10.25 a month (instead of £26.60) so I've stayed, it might be worth her asking about that when the contracts actually do run out.
I was post-24 months so I was ok to leave, but I never expected a deal like that. I have to say having contracts with T-mobile, Virgin and Orange - none of them have been as good as Vodafone, I'm not saying you have to love them like we do, just that they were real good when I was free to leave, they might do her a better deal when the time comes?"There is no substitute for time."
Competition wins:
2013. Three bottles of oxygen! And a family ticket to intech science centre. 2011. The Lake District Cheese Co Cow and bunny pop up play tent, cheese voucher, beach ball and cuddly toy cow and bunny and a £20 ToysRus voucher!0 -

So, effectively, you are now on a year sim-only as you haven't said anything about a new handset.
How does that compare with their sim only deals?0
