Time limit for making a claim for being bumped off a flight?

Hi
does anyone know if there is a time limit on making a claim for being bumped off a flight? This happened to us on our honeymoon but I've only just realised that you can claim for this. Only problem is it was five years ago. I'm guessing we're probably too late on this.

Yes I still have the itinery.
We flew out of Heathrow on 03/09/07 with Kenya Airways flight KQ101 to Nairobi.

When we arrived in Nairobi for our connecting flight we were told the flight was full and we would have to get the next one. Connecting flight was on 04/09/07 with Kenya Airways operated by Precision Air flight KQ6724 to Kilamanjaro.

We were given a meal voucher for the airport canteen.
